WEBG0000B0 WebServer: using the rules of the HTTP protocol (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol), Web-GATE "serves" web pages to a "client" computer connected to a local network or the Internet. The web pages are created based on the characteristics of the specific installation, for the management of the data sent by the instruments via the CAREL RS485 network. The user can thus display and modify the parameters of the installation using an Internet browser, such as Microsoft® Internet Explorer or NetScape Navigator®, by entering the IP address of the Web-GATE. Custom HTML pages can be easily created and uploaded to the Web-GATE by the user, using HTML editors. SNMP gateway: Web-GATE is a gateway to the Simple Network Management Protocol, the protocol used to send the data from the instruments connected in a CAREL network via an Ethernet™-TCP/IP network to a local or remote supervisor for subsequent processing. SNMP is a protocol developed specifically for the management of TCP/IP networks, established in 1988 to the specifications of the IAB (Internet Administration Board), the body that supervises the Internet protocol. It is therefore a protocol designed specifically for the management of data on TCP/IP networks, and consequently is very widely used and ideal for this application.
